In 2024, Alphabet’s vehicle portfolio increased by 6%, to over 760,000 units. That’s just one of the positive figures in the leasing company’s annual report, which also shows a 23% increase in new business, and a huge uptick in EVs. Alphabet’s ability to maintain growth in turbulent economic times “is a testament to the company’s resilience, adaptability, and unwavering commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction”, the BMW subsidiary said in a statement. A few highlights from the report: Faster electrification The demand of new business for EVs, whether partially or fully electric, has increased by 45% compared to 2023. This is all the more notable in a market that has seen barely any growth. As a result, EVs now make up 35% of Alphabet’s total portfolio. “Across our markets, fleets are making the strategic shift to electric , with every fourth vehicle delivered by Alphabet last year even being a (full-electric) BEV”, says Jesper Lindberg (pictured), who took over as Alphabet’s CEO last November. Sustainable and digital Alphabet’s updated 360 Fleet Portal and Fleet Reporting now feature the Alphabet AI assistant, which enables fleet customers to cut emissions, boost efficiency, and remain compliant with regulations. “Sustainability and digitalisation can no longer be separated. Our goal is to be the best of both worlds”, says Lyndberg. To reinforce that vision, Alphabet in 2024 introduced two key leadership roles: Chief ESG Officer, and Chief Digitalisation Officer. Strong 2025 In the first two months of the new year, over 44% of new business contract were for fully or partially electric vehicles . That corresponds to more than 140,000 BEVs from the total portfolio. “Since this is my first full year as CEO, I’m very excited to announce we’re already on course to exceed our goals for this year”, says Lyndberg.
