Celonis integrates Process Intelligence with Microsoft Fabric

Apr 1, 2025

Today Celonis is set to provide Process Intelligence capabilities to users of Microsoft Fabric, thereby enhancing AI functionalities within Microsoft's analytics platform. The collaboration between Celonis and Microsoft is geared towards integrating Process Intelligence into various solutions such as Microsoft Power BI dashboards or AI agents in Microsoft Copilot Studio. Dan Brown, Chief Product Officer at Celonis, stated, "Thanks to the collaboration between Celonis and Microsoft, companies can access Celonis' unique process data and context in the most commonly deployed enterprise platform." This integration is designed to offer Microsoft customers a data foundation that centres on process-centric insights. Mr. Brown elaborated that "This new integration gives Microsoft customers a process-centric data foundation for the solutions they're building. With Celonis Process Intelligence, users can start by automating discrete process steps, graduate to creating agents that can handle more complex exceptions, and eventually automate and orchestrate end-to-end processes with AI across systems, departments and even companies." The collaboration aims to enhance Microsoft's enterprise AI capabilities by embedding Celonis' Process Intelligence into existing analytics and AI workflows. Dipti Borkar, VP and GM Fabric OneLake & Fabric ISVs at Microsoft Azure, commented, "Our collaboration with Celonis brings the power of process intelligence to Microsoft customers. This zero-copy integration with Microsoft OneLake as well as introducing a Celonis workload within Microsoft Fabric enables our customers to use Celonis' process intelligence directly within their existing analytics and AI workflows." The integration utilises a zero-copy technique facilitated by Celonis Data Core, allowing seamless data interaction between Celonis Process Intelligence Graph and Microsoft Fabric without the need for data transfers. This feature supports efficient data sharing from Microsoft OneLake, thereby streamlining data governance while reducing costs and errors. The approach allows for scenarios requiring immediate data synchronisation. Customers will benefit from unique process intelligence access, effective enterprise AI, and accelerated insights. The integration will make it straightforward to share data with Celonis due to this native zero-copy capability. Users gain insights into process improvements directly within the Microsoft environment, as noted in their joint communication. Soon to be introduced in Microsoft's Workload Hub, Celonis' workload will link raw data from Fabric to Celonis, allowing synchronisation of process-specific metrics back to Microsoft Fabric. Furthermore, views from Celonis can be seamlessly embedded into Fabric, providing visualisations aimed at identifying root causes and framing value opportunities. Microsoft Fabric, which aims to unify data platforms to advance AI transformation, will rely on the context provided by Celonis Process Intelligence to enhance understanding of business operations. Celonis' research indicates 89% of business leaders consider understanding processes essential for AI to deliver effective outcomes. The integration facilitates swift and more efficient creation of AI agents with Microsoft Copilot Studio, a preferred AI development environment for numerous Celonis customers. The collaboration, initially announced at an event in Munich, enables increased ease in launching and configuring agents in Microsoft Copilot, ensuring that these AI agents are contextually adept.
