Design a compelling main visual element for Children of Neon Bamboo book

This contest is for the main visual element of my new book cover for Children of the Neon Bamboo About me, the author: Moving bravely forward into the absurd he was a 2020 L. Ron Hubbard’s Writers of the Future Honorable Mention. Beautiful women, exotic music, weird movies, and the enduring human spirit. Adventurer on the zeitgeist, sojourner of the surreal, soldier of the soul. The last cowboy of the mind.

This graphic is to be the main visual element of my book cover, Children of the Neon Bamboo This story sits right in the transition from the 80s to 90s, full-tilt 80s Nintendo behind them. Edgy, ripped jeans Sega grunge in front of them. Sitting in the middle is the “rad” LA transition era. Think Gecko of Hawaii or an 80s Memphis art style taco bell had a book. The patterns on the clothes are the center point. Maybe mix in a border, a tree (palm or bamboo) and maybe an outline of a man. ^this will be the core aesthetic Summer feel. Japanese influence as well. Vietnam war influence. The shitty, overgrown pool, could pull it a little too. There is some Florida keys yacht rock vibe in there as well. These can influence but not drive. Be subtle, not over-the-top. Hint don’t be too overt. The Nintendo cover and the turtle cards are just a loose idea, maybe a border. Maybe a stick figure guy on there, maybe not. (I understand this is not the book cover design contest and not expecting a fully formatted book cover - just asking for the visual element in this contest) However, if you have vision or an idea about the accompanying graphics and title location, please show me. I will be paying someone to create the fonts and put a title on it. I would prefer an integrated vision, one creator. So, let me know and we can work together on the next phase. thank you.
