Dr. James Mellon

Dr. James J. Mellon received his Doctorate in Consciousness Studies from the Emerson Theological Institute and is an ordained Religious Science Minister with over 20 years of service to his Spiritual Community. He lives in Los Angeles and is the Founding Spiritual Director of Global Truth Center, whose vision statement is Love Only – Forgive Everything – Remember Who You Are. Combining spirituality with the arts is Dr. James' primary focus. His personal mission statement, “Enlightenment Through Entertainment,” continues to inspire his ministry. Prior to becoming a minister, Dr. James had a successful career in the entertainment industry, which included Broadway, television, music, and film. On Broadway, he played Riff in the Jerome Robbins revival of West Side Story, and toured the country as Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar. He then turned his attention to writing and directing. He has written for the stage, television, and film, with three original musicals published for which he wrote the book, and co-wrote music and lyrics with his writing partner, Scott DeTurk. Their musical, A Boy Called Lizard, received the 2012 AATE Award (American Association for Theatre and Education) for best adaptation of a musical. Dr. James’ first book, Mental Muscle: 16 Weeks of Spiritual Bootcamp, is in its third printing and used by many Centers and in workshops around the world.

"The 5 Questions" poses five questions the read can use to explore who they are and live a more fulfilled life. In the first part of the book, Dr. Mellon poses the questions and shares stories from his life that helped him develop the questions. In the second part of the book, he offers a deeply personal story of the loss of his daughter, and how the questions helped him deal with this unimaginable grief and pain. But this is not a book about just about those topics. It's a journey of personal exploration.
