The Chinese e-commerce company will use this massive investment to expand its user base Image credit: koudai.com Chinese e-commerce company Koudai Gouwu – or Pocket Shopping in English — quietly revealed in a posting to its Weibo account yesterday that it had raised US$350 million in series C funding led by Tencent, one of Alibaba’s biggest competitors in the online retail space. Kuodai had originally raised an undisclosed amount in a 2010 seed round from Xiaomi Founder Lei Jun, followed by US$12 million in Series A investment from Jingwei Investments in 2011. Warburg Pincus invested an undisclosed amount in Series B round in 2012, with Matrix Partners China also investing the same year a speculated US$6 million.
