Merama levanta 215 millones de dólares y apuesta por el sector de suplementos en Brasil 16 1 minute read Merama (web) Merama , especializada en el crecimiento y adquisición de marcas digitales en América Latina, anunció el cierre de una ronda de inversión por 215 millones de dólares, en la que participó Marcel Telles, cofundador de 3G Capital y uno de los empresarios más influyentes de Brasil. De acuerdo con lo compartido por Felipe Delgado, cofundador y presidente de Merama, en su cuenta de LinkedIn, la ronda se compone de 45 millones de dólares en capital y 170 millones en financiamiento vía deuda, respaldada por Citi, Banco Itaú y BTG Pactual. “Nos enorgullece anunciar nuestra ronda Serie C en Merama con una valuación superior a los mil millones de dólares. Hemos asegurado 215 millones de dólares, lo que nos permitirá redoblar esfuerzos en nuestras seis principales compañías, que han superado de forma constante el crecimiento del mercado en los últimos años”, escribió Delgado. También agradeció el respaldo continuo de los inversionistas Advent, SoftBank, Valor Capital Group, Monashees y Balderton Capital, y dio la bienvenida a Marcel Telles en esta nueva etapa. Con esta nueva inyección de capital, Merama busca consolidar su posición como uno de los líderes en comercio electrónico en la región y acelerar su estrategia de crecimiento, que incluye adquisiciones estratégicas en mercados clave como Brasil. De hecho, la compañía anunció la compra de Growth Supplements, una marca brasileña enfocada en nutrición deportiva, lo que representa una fuerte apuesta por el sector de suplementos alimenticios, uno de los más dinámicos en el comercio digital. “Estamos convencidos del potencial de las marcas digitales en América Latina y queremos seguir apoyándolas con tecnología, capital y experiencia operativa”, declaró Suhail Arora, cofundador y CEO de Merama.
