On Tuesday, mental health care provider SonderMind participated in this trend, announcing its nationwide expansion . The company has spent the last year extending its reach from 15 to all 50 states, with psychiatry services now live in 27 states and growing, said CEO Mark Frank. The news came less than a week after Two Chairs , another company providing mental health care, revealed it is extending its services to 19 new states, making them available to 75% of the U.S. population. presented by Denver-based SonderMind, founded in 2014, was created to help meet the increased demand for timely, high-quality mental health care, Frank noted. “SonderMind addresses this challenge by delivering an integrated mental health platform that brings together therapy, psychiatry, digital tools and payer-aligned infrastructure — all in one place,” he declared. The company provides both in-person and virtual therapy through its national network of more than 12,000 licensed clinicians. SonderMind also launched a patient-facing app last year that gives users access to self care tools for things like meditation and daily mood tracking. Frank pointed out that the company also seeks to make it easier for patients to find the care they need through its AI-powered care concierge, which helps users schedule appointments with providers that accept their insurance. “We work with most major insurance plans — both commercial and government-sponsored — so the majority of our clients are able to use their in-network benefits to pay for care. For those paying out-of-pocket, we offer transparent pricing,” he stated. He also noted that SonderMind operates in a competitive landscape that includes companies like Talkspace , Headway and Alma , as well as smaller groups and individual providers in local markets. “What sets us apart is our end-to-end clinical infrastructure and direct involvement in care delivery — not just referral or provider directory models. We also have expansive local and regional payer coverage and take Medicare nationally,” Frank remarked. In his eyes, SonderMind’s latest announcement shows that it has reached true scale and maturity. The expansion builds upon SonderMind’s strategic moves from the past three years, such as its acquisitions of mental health analytics company Qntfy , self-assessment platform Total Brain and clinical expertise technology firm Mindstrong , Frank said.
