Antoine Hubert : on vous révèle le nouveau projet secret du cofondateur d'Ynsect

C’est en tout cas ce qu’applique Antoine Hubert, cofondateur d’Ynsect, spécialiste de la production de protéines à base d’insectes. Selon nos informations, malgré le fait que sa startup Ynsect, qu’il a cofondé, soit toujours en redressement judiciaire, il s'apprête à lancer une nouvelle startup, toujours dans le secteur de l’agriculture. Celle-ci est baptisée Keprea, en référence à une combinaison de noms de divinités égyptiennes et mésopotamiennes, lieux où l'agriculture a été découverte il y a plus de 10 000 ans. Son activité serait encore liée à l’élevage d’insectes. La société a été créée, puis inscrite au registre du commerce et des sociétés en août dernier. Pour mettre sur les rails son projet et lever des fonds, Antoine Hubert rencontre actuellement plusieurs investisseurs français. Tous les types d'investisseurs, qu'ils soient VC, business angels, ou qu'ils fassent partie du private equity sont envisagés. Selon une source proche du dossier, l'entrepreneur souhaite ainsi lever plusieurs millions d'euros. Au capital de la société, on retrouve cinq associés, dont lui-même, Émilien Bohuon, ex-directeur de la recherche et du développement d’Ynsect ou Béatrice Vassy, directrice financière de la startup Dental Monitoring, spécialiste des soins dentaires. C’est cette dernière qui a été choisie pour diriger la nouvelle structure. L’entreprise s’est aussi dotée d’un site internet, déjà en ligne, et qui devrait être opérationnel prochainement. Un lancement dans les prochains mois Antoine Hubert a cofondé Ynsect en 2011. Après en avoir été président, ll a lâché les rênes de l’entreprise en juillet 2023 et en est devenu le directeur de la stratégie. Il demeure aussi administrateur de l'entreprise. Après avoir levé plus de 600 millions d’euros, sa startup est actuellement au bord de la cessation de paiements. Il ne lui reste que peu de trésorerie. Cependant, elle vient d'obtenir une petite rallonge pour poursuivre son activité, en attendant une reprise éventuelle de ses activités. Ses investisseurs historiques viennent en effet d'annoncer qu'ils réinvestissaient 10 millions d'euros . Ce qui lui permet de maintenir “ la production et la livraison des clients, et les discussions avec de potentiels investisseurs pendant les prochains mois”, selon un communiqué de la startup. Un montant dérisoire comparé à l'ensemble des montants levés par la société. Ynsect attend désormais un financement plus important pour sauver ses activités. 200 emplois sont menacés. Elle vient aussi de nommer un nouveau CEO, Emmanuel Pinto, spécialiste des entreprises en difficulté. Quoiqu'il en soit, avec ce nouveau projet, Antoine Hubert pourrait vite rebondir.
